Good evening,

This message is from Evergreen Park school.

Please take note of the following important updates and reminders:

Professional Learning Day
• All students will remain home tomorrow as staff will be participating in professional learning activities.

Parking Lot and Kiss & Ride Safety
Thank you to all parents and guardians who are helping us maintain a safe environment by:
o Reducing their speed on school grounds.
o Parking only in designated areas.
o Refraining from parking in the Kiss & Ride during dismissal.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and helps keep everyone safe.

Morning Kiss & Ride Reminders
• Please do not attempt to pass other vehicles while in the Kiss & Ride lane.
• Parents should remain in their vehicles.
• Staff members wearing orange safety vests are available from 7:45 a.m. to 8:05 a.m. to assist students in exiting vehicles safely on the sidewalk side.
• The Kiss & Ride area is a drop-off zone only. Please do not park there between 7:25 a.m. and 8:15 a.m.
• Please avoid stopping too close to Evergreen Drive, as this causes traffic congestion.
• Idling in the Kiss & Ride before 7:45 a.m. also contributes to traffic backups on Evergreen Drive.
We encourage all families to review our new Family Handbook. In particular, please read pages 27-28, which clearly outline our Kiss & Ride procedures and expectations.

Fire Drills and Lockdown Drill
Throughout the month of September, students and staff will be participating in fire drills as part of our regular safety preparation.
To ensure everyone is prepared in the event of an emergency, we will also be conducting our annual lockdown drill on Monday, September, 21st at 9:00 a.m. During the drill:
• Students and staff will remain in their classroom/designated locations.
• Classroom doors will be locked and lights turned off.
• Everyone will remain quiet until the drill concludes.
• No one will be permitted to enter or leave the building while the drill is in progress.
These drills are an important part of our school safety plan and help ensure that students know what to do in an emergency. An RCMP officer will be present to observe and support the exercise.

Meet the Teacher Night
• Thursday, September 24 at 6:30 p.m.
• Families will begin in the gymnasium before proceeding to their child’s classroom.
• This is an excellent opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, visit the classroom, and receive information regarding classroom expectations and routines.

School Fees
• Thank you to all families who have already paid their child’s school fees.
• If your family is experiencing financial hardship, please contact Mrs. Panagiotakis. We are committed to supporting families, and arrangements can be made in a confidential and respectful manner.

Have a wonderful evening,
Mrs. Antigone Panagiotakis
