Good afternoon,

This message is from Evergreen Park School.

The Evergreen Park Home and School is excited to host a family movie night on Thursday, December 1st. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie will start at 6:00 p.m. in the school gym. We will be playing Minions: The Rise of Gru. Admission is $2 dollars per person or $5 dollars per family. Come dressed as a minion to be entered in our prize draw. Feel free to bring blankets or pillows to set up on the gym floor. Lawn chairs can be set up at the back of the gym. A small canteen will be available. Please note parents or guardians must stay with their child for the movie.

Great Pajama Rally—-Evergreen Park School needs your help! On Monday, November 28th, we will be rolling out our 12th annual Great Pajama Rally! Our objective is to “raise” as many new pairs of pajamas as we can. Once the campaign finishes on Thursday, December 8th, all pajamas will be donated to Moncton Headstart, Crossroads for Women and, of course, to students in our own school!

If you would like to help us achieve our goal, please drop off a pair of new pajamas in any size from size 6 to adult. You may drop the pajamas in the Great Pajama Rally box which is located in the front lobby of our school, or you may give them to a student to bring in. Thank you for your support! For further information, please call our school at 856-3476.

Winter temperatures have arrived! Please ensure your child is dressed warmly for our chilly winter New Brunswick days ahead. If you require help obtaining a warm winter jacket, snow pants, boots, scarf, mittens/gloves, please call Mrs. Panagiotakis at 856-3476. If you  wish to donate  any of the above-mentioned items, please  drop them off at school. We will ensure to give them to any child that requires help to stay warm.

I am happy to report that AESD will once again be doing a hybrid campaign for “Fill the Bus 2022”. There will be the original food item collections and we will also offer a virtual campaign this year from November 28th to December 21st. All funds raised will go to School Breakfast Programs through the Food Depot Alimentaire; food items collected will go to foodbank programs throughout our school district. Please note, the QR code will only be active between November 28th to December 21st inclusive. If possible, I encourage you to donate to this particularly important campaign.

First term report cards will be sent home on Thursday, December 1st. Parent-teacher interviews will be held on Thursday, December 8th from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and on Friday, December 9th from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  Students will stay home on Friday, December 9th.

A New Brunswick student wellness survey will be included with your child’s report card on Thursday, December 1st. By completing this survey, you are helping teachers, schools, districts, and the provincial decision-makers better understand the needs and strengths of students in our school and community.  Please use the survey code listed on the bottom right- hand corner of the survey memo. In addition to the survey, you will also find a memo explaining how you can obtain online access to your child’s attendance, school schedule, and report card.  To access this information, you will need to follow the steps included in the letter.

There is no school for students on Friday, December 2nd as staff will be participating in various professional learning sessions.

Have a wonderful evening and make it a great week,

Mrs. Antigone Panagiotakis
