This message is from Evergreen Park school.

Good afternoon,

Here are a few important reminders and updates for the week ahead:

Trunk or Treat—Thursday. October 29

A reminder to all Evergreen Park families that our 2nd annual Trunk or Treat and Touch a Truck is happening Thursday evening from 6-7:30PM in our school parking lot and Kiss & Ride!  Admission is by donation of an item for the Peter McKee Community Food Bank or monetary donation to support our Home & School Association.

Don’t forget that Mama K’s food truck will also be on site for supper or snacks, and there will be a fall Photo Booth area set up for you to take photos of your children dressed up. We can’t wait for this great event with both our school community and the community at large through the many vehicles we will host.

We hope to see you there!!!

No School – Monday, November 2

Students will stay home while staff participate in professional learning activities.

Picture Retakes – Tuesday, November 3

Picture retakes are only for students who were absent on Picture Day or whose parent/guardian has requested a retake. To request a retake, please email [[email protected]]. If you forget to sign up, we will also honour a note from home.

Breakfast Program – 7:45–8:05 a.m.

Please speak with your child and reinforce that students who are eating breakfast at school must leave the cafeteria once they have finished eating. We are fortunate to have a high demand for our breakfast program; however, our cafeteria cannot accommodate students remaining in the space after they have eaten while waiting for the bell. Students should eat their breakfast and then leave the cafeteria promptly so that there is room for others. Thank you for helping us keep the program welcoming and accessible for everyone.

Halloween Activities

To be more inclusive, we are encouraging students to wear orange and black on Friday to celebrate Halloween and show school spirit.

We recognize that wearing Halloween costumes has been a successful incentive and celebration in the past, and we will certainly revisit this option when planning future Walk-A-Thon rewards.  This year, however, students will have the opportunity to wear their Halloween costumes at our Thursday evening Trunk-or- Treat event.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we strive to create celebrations that are welcoming and accessible for all students.

Although there will be no costumes on Friday, students can still look forward to lots of fun, age-appropriate Halloween activities throughout the day. We wish all of our Evergreen Park families a safe and wonderful Halloween on Saturday!

Walk-A-Thon – Friday

Our Walk-A-Thon will take place during Periods 3 and 4. Please ensure students are dressed accordingly for the weather.

Hot Lunch Reminder

If your child is absent and a hot lunch has been pre-ordered, please remember to cancel the order by 8:00 a.m. that day.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We appreciate families helping us reinforce these important routines and reminders with students.

Have a good evening,

Mrs. Antigone Panagiotakis
